I have been taking belly dance classes from Malik through the duration of my pregnancy with my third child, as well as before and after. I found bellydance to be a good way to enjoy and embrace being a woman, as well as confidence building. It was a great workout to ease my aches and pains as my belly grew during my pregnancy & extremely helpful in my post partum recovery.
Dance With Me, Baby!
Come and play, belly-style! With a focus on using bellydance moves to connect with your baby, you’ll also be toning the muscles you need to parent with ease.
This class gives you the time and space to do something for yourself while actively parenting your baby. Your baby will benefit from the exposure to the music and movements of bellydance, as well as the relaxed time spent with you. Short combinations you can continue to use at home will be presented, as well as a general bellydance vocabulary. Props may be introduced as well.
All class fees apply to the parent/caregiver and the baby he or she wears. If you’re parenting more than one, please arrange for an additional adult to register for the class so we can maintain a safe and helpful adult-to-child ratio for our dance time. Pregnant? You're already wearing your baby so come and enjoy the moves (and get a bonus as bellydance is GREAT for pregnancy & labor)!
Please dress in comfortable standard workout attire and get ready to move and have fun! If you have a coin-belt or hip-scarf, please bring it along!
